How to use both sides of the paper
By Kevin and Ronnie Paper Usage

We are going to tell you about paper usage. A person in the U.S. uses about 650 pounds of paper a year. Using recycled paper causes less pollution. One way to reduce pollution is to stop using as much paper. Here are some ways to use less paper.

1. We can put two assignments on one piece of paper. In Language Arts class we always use the backsheet of a paper to write our notes on.

2. If you have a short quiz, cut or tear a piece of paper in half and give one sheet to a partner and you can use the other. We do that in our Reading Class.

3. Tell your teacher to print assignments on both sides of paper instead of two sheets. We always have two-sided copies whenever there are two pages to a test or assignment in Science.

4. Instead of using a new sheet of paper just use an old sheet of paper that you already used. You can X out the other side. You can use the blank side for printer paper.

5. In math, when we’re doing practice problems, we use scrap paper to do the problems. Also, we just use whiteboards instead of paper.

Green Monkey Fact: The U.S. produces and uses 1/3 of the world’s paper.
